About the role
To provide clinical leadership and subject matter expertise in sports injury management and rehabilitation within a digital-first environment. You will drive the clinical excellence of the virtual physiotherapy offering, ensuring that rehabilitation pathways are evidence-based, innovative, and effectively delivered through the Physitrack platform
Main responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Subject Matter Expertise
- Act as the primary Subject Matter Expert for sports-specific injuries and complex rehabilitation pathways
- Lead the development and optimisation of the virtual physiotherapy service, ensuring high-quality patient journeys from self-referral to recovery
- Take operational and clinical ownership of the Physitrack platform, ensuring the exercise library and remote monitoring tools are utilised to their full potential
- Perform virtual assessments for patients with sports-related MSK conditions, providing rapid diagnosis and personalised rehab plans
Training & People Development
- Design and deliver comprehensive clinical training programmes for the physiotherapy team, focusing on sports injury management and rehabilitation techniques
- Act as a clinical mentor and positive role model, supporting staff development to maximise their clinical potential
- Ensure the team remains at the forefront of healthcare technology and evidence-based MSK practice
Governance, Audit & Incident Management
- Lead clinical investigations into complaints or incidents relating specifically to rehabilitation and sports injury management
- Work closely with the Advanced Practice (AP) team to conduct root-cause analysis and implement learning from clinical incidents
- Initiate and manage audit cycles to evaluate the effectiveness of rehabilitation interventions and the virtual physio offering
- Ensure all clinical records and treatment plans are contemporaneous, accurate, and consistent with HCPC and CSP legislation

This role will report to the MSK Deputy Clinical Services Manager
Essential skills
EDUCATION
- BSc/Grad Dip in Physiotherapy and current HCPC registration
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a dedicated Sports Injury or high-level Rehab service
- Proven experience in delivering evidence-based treatment pathways and patient materials
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Expert knowledge of sports-specific pathology, biomechanics, and rehabilitation phases
- Strong understanding of clinical governance and the audit cycle
Desirable skills
EDUCATION
- MSc or evidence of Master’s level study in Sports Physiotherapy or Rehab
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in training or leading a team of physiotherapists
- Experience working in a remote or virtual clinical role
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Advanced proficiency in using Physitrack or similar digital rehab tools
- Interest in data analysis and applying it to improve clinical outcomes
